SparkCharge's CEO, Joshua Aviv, traveled to New York City to pitch at the Blackstone Techstars Venture Competition, capturing the first place grand prize. Blackstone Launchpad and Techstars partnered on a training camp and a pitch event where 40 teams from 20 worldwide universities participated. During yesterday's pitches, SparkCharge was among seven teams that delivered pitches in a bid to win $15,000 in funding and a trip to Techstars FounderCon in Oakland, CA to connect with other Techstars entrepreneurs and learn from peers and share best practices.
Blackstone LaunchPad is a global entrepreneurship program that is entirely campus-based designed to support and mentor students, staff, and alumni. During his time at Syracuse University, Aviv has relied on and continues to utilize the many resources provided by the Blackstone Launchpad at Syracuse while developing SparkCharge.
Techstars is a leading entrepreneurship network for startups to connect with resources for raising funding and gaining critical insight to launch businesses through accelerators and development programs. Since their launch in 2006, Techstars now operates accelerators worldwide in cities such as London, New York City, Cape Town, Tel Aviv and more.
